RiskRewardPlus

RiskRewardPlus (Desktop Drawing Tool)
User Guide Overview:
The RiskRewardPlus drawing tool is an enhanced risk/reward ratio visualization provided by Christian Carreon of Trading Boxes, who often appears on NinjaTrader Live. It automatically calculates and displays multiple profit target ratios based on a defined risk as the tool is drawn. It extends the standard risk/reward tool by adding up to six customizable extension levels (2R through 6R) for advanced trade planning and management.

The RiskRewardPlus tool is located in the Drawing Tools - near the bottom of the list.

Core Functionality:
The tool captures two anchor points - Entry and Stop Loss - then automatically calculates and displays additional profit targets at multiples of your initial risk ratio (R). When you define your entry and stop, the tool instantly plots your primary target based on your specified ratio, plus optional extension levels for scaling out positions.

Drawing the Tool:
Click to set your Entry point
Click to set your Stop Loss point
The tool automatically calculates and displays your primary Target based on the Ratio setting
Additional extension lines (2R-6R) appear based on your input configuration

Input Parameters - General Settings: (R = Ratio)
TIP: To access the input parameters for a drawing tool, go to Drawing Tools then Drawing Objects (near the bottom)
Ratio: Sets the primary target ratio (default: 1.0)
Value Display: Choose between Price/Currency/Percent/Ticks/Pips
Show Ratios: 2R through 6R: Toggle visibility of each extension level
Define 2R through 6R Ratios: Customize the multiplier for each level (defaults: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Show Dollar Values: Display P&L alongside price levels
Show Line Labels: Display "Entry", "Stop", "1R", "2R" etc. labels
Label Font: Font for line labels
Price Font: Font for price values
Extend Lines Left: Extend all horizontal lines to the left edge
Extend Lines Right: Extend all horizontal lines to the right edge
Anchor Line Color: Connecting line between anchor points
Risk Extension Color: Horizontal line at entry price
Reward Extension Line Color: Horizontal line at stop loss
Entry extension Line Color: Horizontal line at primary target
Text Alignment: Position of price labels (Off/Inside Left/Inside Right)
2R-6R Line Colors: Individual stroke settings for each extension level

How It Works: Risk Calculation:
The tool automatically calculates your risk (R) as the distance between Entry and Stop Loss prices.
Target Level Calculations:
Primary Target = Entry + (Risk)
2R Extension = Entry + (Risk * 2 Ratio) (where 2 is configurable in the inputs)
3R Extension = Entry + (Risk * 3 Ratio)
And so on for each enabled extension

Tips for Effective Use:
Set your most common ratios as defaults in a template
Use different colors for extension lines to match your trading plan
Enable dollar values when trading multiple contracts

Futures, options, foreign currency, digital asset, and event contract trading involves substantial risk and is not suitable for everyone. An investor may lose all or more than the initial investment. Trading should be undertaken only with risk capital—funds that can be lost without jeopardizing one’s financial security or lifestyle—and only by those who can afford such losses. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. Prior to trading digital assets, review the CFTC and NFA advisories for additional information regarding the significant risks involved. View Risk Disclosure Statement.

NFA Rule 2-29(c): Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
